1970 DODGE CHARGER TANTRUM BY SPEEDKORE

Taking a 1970 Dodge Charger and turning it into a supercar is unfathomable, at least, it was until we came across mod-shop SpeedKore’s Tantrum, a Charger turned into a supercar that can push out 1,650 horsepower.

The modshop, which is based in Port Washington, Wisconsin, is well-known in the area for giving muscle cars the handling and parts to make it go faster. With the Tantrum, the Charger was outfitted with carbon fiber and lightweight aluminum to shed some of its original weight. In fact, the car’s custom grille was crafted from a 72-inch block of solid aluminum. But it’s what’s under the hood that sends our jaws to the floor — a 9.0-liter, 1,650 horsepower Mercury Racing engine known as the QC4V, which pushes out all of the power with the help of two 94mm turbochargers and a six-speed manual gearbox. The car has also been outfitted with 14-inch Baer disc brakes. It’s a one of a kind build.
